Spheroidal Graphitic Pearlitic Cast Iron
Spheroidal Graphitic Pearlitic Cast Iron
S.G.P.I rolls are essentially an indefinite chill-type material. The microstructure constitutes nodular graphite and carbides in a pearlitic matrix. The resistance to fire-cracking is best when the softer grades are used. Its good hardness penetration makes it suitable for small to medium sections and billets, although it can also give good results when rolling flat products.
